Pointe West Golf Course,which opened for play in May 1989,was designed by Canadian and world-renowned golf course architect Thomas McBroom.This eighteen-hole championship style links weaves its way through old growth timber and over the gently rolling land of old Anderdon Township.The course is designed in such a manner as to offer the player an endless variety of shot combinations.The bent grass tees and fairways are firm and meticulously groomed.They are shaped to offer a substantial challenge to the accomplished golfer,yet do not unfairly punish the novice.The installation of a state of the art three-line irrigation system has further enhanced the reputation Pointe West maintains for its general course conditioning,which is second to none in Essex County.The bent grass greens,which meet all USGA specifications,are ample in size and contoured to offer countless challenging pin placements.They are firm but hold a well-struck shot and offer true ball roll,speed and bounce.The practice and warm up areas offer all levels of golfer the opportunity to improve their skills and playing ability.The 25,000 square foot practice chipping area,driving range,large practice putting green,chipping green and practice bunker are located close to the Clubhouse,adjacent to the first tee.Whether you are considering membership at Pointe West,playing as a guest,or within our tournament program,you’ll be sure to enjoy the challenging but rewarding championship links of Pointe West.
