WHAT IS THE BOGEY GOLF TOUR ALL ABOUT?
Established 2003 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada
The Bogey Golf Tour is "a premier tour for the average weekend golfer" who enjoys competition and the game of golf. For the 2010 season the Bogey Golf Tour Windsor/London/Kitchener/Waterloo/Toronto is set up in 31 stroke play tournaments and 4 charity best ball scramble events throughout the season (April - September), played at premier courses from Windsor to Toronto. There are weekday, and weekend tournaments to accommodate all walks of life.
MEMBERSHIPS- Annual memberships are only $50 and you are eligible to play in any of our regional Divisions (Windsor, London, Kitchener etc.). Play in 5 tournaments in a regional division and qualify for that divisions Invitational.
The only pre-requisite is "The Love of Golf". The “BGT Invitational", held at the end of the season, will include any player who has participated in at least 5 tournaments in a division on our schedule as $3 from every entry fee goes to an accumulating pot for the finals. The BGT 2009 Finals paid out $3119 in prize money. This will also be the banquet for any member who wishes to attend even if they did not qualify.
3 DIVISIONS - NEW FOR 2010 -The tour is set up in 3 divisions to accommodate all levels of competitors. A-Straight up division (no handicap, open to scratch or low handicap amateurs and club pros with an extra $20 entry fee to prize pot), B- 0 to 15 handicap, and C-16+ handicap
Most past members will already have a handicap factor with the Bogey Golf Tour using the Tee-On System. New members will get their own account through our site and must provide at least five 18 hole rounds to determine an accurate handicap for the start of the season.
There will be prize money in each division. The A-Straight up division will pay out the top 5 low gross scores. The B- 0 to 15 and C- 16 plus handicap divisions will pay out for Low Gross Score, 1st, 2nd and 3rd Low Net. This prize money comes directly out of the tournament fees.
Thanks to our many sponsors there will also be prizes awarded for closest to the pin and long drives for each division. Optional skins game in each division as well.
PACE OF PLAY - NEW FOR 2010 - Tournament days consist of mostly shot gun starts and cross over tee times to help speed up play.
After your round you simply sign the card and join other members for a drink or you can be on your way. All stats and winners are posted on the website within a couple of days. Closest to the pin and long drive winners could receive their prize that day if they wish to stay and wait for the last group to come in.
The heart of our tour, above and beyond the actual game of golf, is our desire to raise money for Charities. Over the past we were able to donate to various local charities: W.E. CARE FOR KIDS, WINDSOR CHILDREN'S AID SOCIETY, CHILDREN DIABETEBETES, HEART AND STROKE FOUNDATION, BIG BROTHERS, GOODFELLOWS, WINDSOR CANCER CENTRE, AUTISM SOCIETY, CRIME STOPPERS and ARNIES ARMY BATTLES PROSTATE CANCER. For 2010 we are also committed to helping the “WINDSOR / ST. CLAIR ROTARY” and “SPORTS FEST Windsor” with annual tournaments. In London we are also committed to helping the “UNITY PROJECT” and “HUTTON HOUSE” annual tournaments.
